Up Skilling For Women Employment
UsForWe transforms lives of underprivileged girls by up-skilling for education based employment
We mentor girls to help move from a limited view that comes from a constrained upbringing to the liberating feeling of a financially independent adulthood bringing families out of generational poverty.
Our five step approach

Skill Mapping
We've mapped skills to careers that can lead to guaranteed employment across industries and sectors, private and public. We keep updating this as new market trends and new demands emerge.

Recruitment
We onboard students into our program either through direct referrals, through colleges or intake through non profits working in the local community. These students come from underprivileged families that lack the support system.

Up-skilling
Our students undergo skill training in different fields like Government sector, private banking, Hospitality, IT Sector, Hospitals and Airline Industry. Besides job training, we also focus on English speaking, basic computer skills and soft skills.

Placement
Once students have the necessary skill set, we ensure that they get placed in the desired fields. We guide through the job application process and interview preparation. We have identified job sources through job portals, networks and partnerships.

Mentoring
Coaching and mentoring is the most important aspect of our program. We take time to understand the students, their background, and their strengths to ensure that we guide them into fields that are a good fit.
Success Stories
Anu’s Story - Growing up in a home with difficult socio economic conditions, Anu has broken barriers and generational poverty through our program. We enrolled her in NIIT’s Post Graduate Program in Banking after Anu finished her BA. She was given the opportunity to be interviewed with ICICI-NIIT’s hiring partner. With tireless hours of preparation from inspiring mentors, Anu made it in her second attempt and was hired on probation. Six months later Anu got hired permanently as a Relationship Manager. Her parents, friends, and the UsForWe community stand by her proud watching her break all obstacles that she hurdled.
Ankita’s Story - Ankita, Anu’s younger sister, is inspired by Anu’s success story and is determined to similarly succeed. Ankita expresses her creatively through art. Initially, it was hard to find a path for her unique interest in drawing. UsForWe taught her basic computer skills and spoken English. After attending various information sessions, Ankita is now pursuing a 9 month Graphic Design and Animation Course from one of top design institutes. UsForWe helped her connect with people that are working in this industry and understand the jobs she will land with after completion of her course. She is building a portfolio at her classes that she will share with potential employers during her recruitment cycle.
Konika’s Story - Konika has completed her diploma in Communications. To make ends meet for her family, she took up a hostess job at a restaurant because she was unable to find a job in her field. While she worked temporarily, we taught her basic computer skills and she was hired as an intern recruiter at a Consulting Company where she also trained on additional skills. At first, Konika was nervous but soon she became confident and grasped concepts quickly. The company offered her a permanent position and they often share her success stories at work with us.
Pushpa’s Story - After completing her graduation, we enrolled Pushpa into the nine month PG Program for Banking Operations at NIIT. Simultaneously, we worked with Pusha on improving her spoken English skills. She was interviewed at ICICI bank and was placed as a Relationship Manager. Now, two years later, she has been promoted and has secured herself in the role of Service Delivery Officers at Kotak Mahindra Bank.
Get Involved
Coach our girls
Volunteer your time by coaching our girls with spoken english, computer skills or industry knowledge. You can also counsel and mentor the girls while they work on their training and placement cycle.
Nominate a student
If you know students that can benefit from this program, share their details. Our criteria for acceptance is underprivileged girls the age group of 18-24 that have completed high school or graduation.
